(Chicago, IL) November 2, 2020 – Today, MBOS, Inc. announced the release of the Q3 2020 results from their partnership with Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center (JPH). In partnership with MBOS, JPH retooled their Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program to address the significant challenge that denials from payers under the Illinois’ MCO program continue to cause. In 2019, the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHHA) reported that roughly 26% of Medicaid MCO claims were denied.1 “This amount of denials is particularly hard on “safety-net” hospitals and those who predominately serve the Medicaid population.” said Randall Smith, EVP of Jackson Park Hospital. “Through our partnership with MBOS, we have been able to see our denial rate from the Illinois Medicaid MCO payers fall to 2.83%”, he added. JPH has done an excellent job in addressing the underlying issues seen with the state-wide claim denial issues under the Illinois Medicaid MCO program. “Our partnership with JPH was a natural extension of our deep knowledge of the revenue cycle, particularly on the billing and collections process.” said Jake Mathew, CEO/founder of MBOS.
